With its passionate care team and exceptional facilities, Southbourne Beach Care Home might just be the place for you or your loved one. Based in Southbourne (a suburb of Bournemouth), we’ve established a strong reputation in the local community – providing some of the best residential, respite and dementia care in Bournemouth. Would you like to explore our home’s facilities and discuss care needs with our friendly care manager? Simply contact us today to arrange your visit.
Southbourne Beach is one of the area’s most popular care homes.
Located in the peaceful suburbs of Bournemouth and just 250 metres from the seafront, we’re blessed with some truly wonderful views. Our care home in Southbourne provides a luxurious space where elderly residents can continue enjoying life and strike up new friendships, all while receiving the high-quality care they need.
We have 87 luxury bedrooms, with 70 single rooms, and 17 shared rooms – which allow couples who need support to stay together. Each room features a variety of modern en-suite facilities. And our residents are more than welcome to bring their own furnishings to make their space a true home-from-home. We offer a shared care experience with our companion suites, designed for couples, siblings, or friends seeking a caring and supportive environment together.
Our team are friendly, compassionate and committed to helping our residents lead fulfilling lives. Here, at Avery, our care philosophy focuses on meeting specific care needs. Whether a person is receiving residential care, specialist dementia care or even temporary respite care – we create care plans designed to support the individual.
Residents have access to a variety of exceptional facilities. Our residential care home in Southbourne features a hair and beauty salon (perfect for a spot of pampering!), a bistro where residents can enjoy a cuppa with a slice of cake, and a dedicated activities room, which there’s always something interesting to get involved in.
Don’t worry – we have those quieter moments covered too. Southbourne Beach Care Home features beautifully landscaped gardens to walk in and stylish lounges where residents can sit back and unwind – with a good book or while watching one of our many film screenings.
Our daily programme of activities ensures there’s always plenty of opportunity to keep the mind and body stimulated. We encourage the residents at our Southbourne residential home to get involved with the activities that match their hobbies and interests.
It means that no two days are ever the same. One day you might find our dedicated activities room hosting a flower arranging session, while on another you’ll see our residents engaged in a competitive yet friendly game of Scrabble on our big board.
We also have a minibus, which enables us to get out and about in Bournemouth, Boscombe and Christchurch. And we love to take advantage of the seafront views – with daily escorted walks on the blue flag beach.
The local area boasts excellent transport links to the wider Dorset area, as well as London. This makes it much easier for family and friends to come and visit loved ones, and residents to get out and about when they want to make their own plans.
I’ve been in the care sector for over 12 years and joined Southbourne Beach Care Home in 2023. I started as a Care Assistant, but my passion for high-quality care began through caring for my own family and has continued to grow. I am lucky to be surrounded by dedicated, compassionate colleagues. With ongoing training, I’ve progressed into management roles.
I have lived in Dorset for most of my life and feel closely connected to our local community. Leading the team at Southbourne Beach Care Home is a privilege, and I’m proud that we always put the needs of our residents first. In my free time, I enjoy staying active, travelling, and discovering new experiences.
