Frognal House Care Home sits just a short distance from the heart of the town. Purpose-built, our luxury care home provides a peaceful and relaxing environment in which elderly people can receive the exact levels of care they require. At our home, we warmly welcome couples or companions who want to continue their care journey together.
When you arrive at our Sidcup care home, you’ll see we’re surrounded by seven acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. They’re wheelchair friendly, so all of our residents can take in and enjoy the picturesque scenery. The home itself consists of three stunning buildings, with a total of 149 resident bedrooms, each with en-suite wet rooms and kitchenettes.
Our home has an array of fantastic on-site facilities. Our residents who like to look their best will find our hair and beauty salon offers the perfect pick-me-up, while our bright and spacious lounges provide a cosy spot to unwind. And when mealtimes arrive, we have a restaurant serving freshly prepared seasonal cuisine.
We can support you or your loved one in many different ways. For people who need some extra support with basic day-to-day activities, such as getting dressed, moving around the home and managing medication, we offer residential care. Our nursing care service enables those with longer-term conditions to receive a more intensive level of care from the local district nursing team.
Here, at Avery, we also pride ourselves on being an industry leader when it comes to dementia care. Our home features a dementia care community specifically designed to provide safety and comfort for those impacted by the illness. We also use life story work to understand our residents and learn how we can best support them as an individual.
Here, at our residential care home in Sidcup, we do everything we can to ensure our residents live a fulfilling life. There’s a lively atmosphere within the home, and no two days are ever the same.
Residents can get involved in a variety of daily activities – from gentle exercise sessions and watercolour painting to learning conversational French and taking part in choral singing. Every activity has been designed with the purpose of keeping people engaged and stimulated – to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
The activities aren’t just limited to the grounds of our spectacular care home – we arrange regular trips out to local sites of interest in Sidcup too. We also encourage residents to make their own plans – whether it’s playing a board game in one of our many quiet nooks, or a trip into Central London.
Sidcup railway station offers regular services to London Charing Cross, while the local Transport for London (TfL) bus service provides easy access to neighbouring areas, such as Bromley, Greenwich and Thamesmead. So, there’s plenty of opportunity to get out and about.
With over 30 years of experience in health and social care, I started my journey at the age of 13 as a volunteer, working across different sectors in various roles. I joined Frognal House Care Home in July 2024 and am passionate about advocating for the elderly and vulnerable adults.
Throughout my career, I’ve progressed into senior leadership roles, contributing to the Department of Health and Social Care’s Nursing and Care advisory group and serving as a judge for the Nursing Times Awards. Along the way, I’ve gained several qualifications, including recently becoming a Coaching Practitioner.
