Assisted Living, Respite and Dementia Care in Eastbourne

Eastbourne Gardens Care Home is renowned in the local community for the care it provides. We’re located in a tranquil area on the outskirts of the town and just a 10-minute drive from the stunning seafront. The home features 93 private apartments – ranging from one-bed rooms to companion suites, perfect for those looking to share their care journey with a loved one, be it a partner, sibling, or friend.

The facilities at our Eastbourne care home are second to none. Our rooms are equipped with all facilities our residents need to feel safe and comfortable, including en-suite wet rooms and airy living spaces, furnished to a high standard. There’s plenty for residents to love away from the privacy of their own rooms too – with a salon, expansive garden space, a lively on-site pub and much more.

We support our residents with a wide range of care options, ranging from assisted living support with basic day-to-day activities, to more intense round-the-clock nursing care for those affected by long-term conditions. We also specialise in dementia care, providing a peaceful environment where our residents can feel safe and secure while receiving care that’s tailored to their needs.

With our innovative ReConnect strategy, we get to know our residents living with dementia of all types and all the unique elements that make them who they are. It’s this that allows us to create a care plan that’s truly focused on the individual. It enables us to better support families too.

What Our Community Have To Say

My first impressions were excellent, as soon as you walked in, it’s impressive, during the stay I had a good nose around the whole place and it was all first-rate.

Fun Down by the Sea at Our Eastbourne Nursing Home

Located on Upper Kings Drive, Eastbourne Gardens Care Home benefits from being just a short drive away from shingle beaches and wonderful sea views. Naturally, we love to take advantage of this when we can – with regular trips down to the town centre and walks along the promenade.

Here, at Avery, we believe life is for living. So, there’s always lots going on, with a regular calendar of activities keeping our residents stimulated and active. These activities range from watercolour painting workshops to light exercise sessions to entertainment provided by guest singers, bands and musicians.

However, we appreciate those quieter moments too. The on-site hair and beauty salon is great for a pick-me-up pampering session, while our luxurious lounges provide a comfortable space to catch up with visiting friends and family.

We encourage the residents to make their own plans if they please too. Our care home in Eastbourne is close to a number of local bus routes, and regular services to Brighton and other areas within the county run from the town’s two railway stations (Eastbourne and Hampden Park).

Nancy Walford

General Manager

With over 15 years in the care sector, I joined Eastbourne Gardens Care Home in 2015. As a Registered Nurse specialising in elderly medical care and dementia, I am dedicated to helping our residents live meaningful and joyful lives. I started as a Dementia Care Manager, earned qualifications in healthcare management, and then moved up to Clinical Services Manager, overseeing clinical operations.

One of our proudest achievements was receiving an Outstanding rating from the CQC. Now, as the Registered Manager, I lead a compassionate and skilled team, ensuring every resident feels valued, safe, and cared for in a welcoming environment. I believe fostering a positive atmosphere benefits both our residents and staff.
