Northampton's Finest Care Home
Our interiors have been luxuriously fitted and furnished with the tastes of our residents in mind. Cliftonville’s generously sized bedrooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms and walk-in showers, as well as flat screen TVs with DVD players. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with photographs, ornaments and other keepsakes, and guests are welcome to visit at any time or perhaps join you for a meal.
The home’s vibrant communal areas are the social hub of our community. Residents come together to socialise in our range of comfortable lounges, be it to chat or take part in a range of group activities. Elsewhere, quiet rooms and patio areas mean residents can read or relax without distraction.
For a touch of pampering, we have an excellent therapy room and modern hair salon, and our in-home gym makes it easy to keep fit and active.
We appreciate the importance of technology when it comes to residents keeping in touch with friends and family. With this in mind, Cliftonville is equipped with free Wi-Fi throughout, and we are always on hand to help residents get the most out of our computers. We recently helped one resident enjoy a live link up via Skype to a wedding in Australia and there wasn't a dry eye in the room!
Restaurant Standard Dining
We pride ourselves on the quality of the restaurant standard food our passionate in-house kitchen team prepare from fresh, local produce. Alex, our head chef, has been with Cliftonville since it opened and has brought a wealth of experience to our dining experience. He has created a team who take pride in catering for all tastes and who enjoy our culinary themed events.
Meals are beautifully presented and served in the home’s bright and modern communal dining area, where family are welcome to join us at any time. We can also arrange for private dining on special occasions too. Residents are actively encouraged to contribute in the planning of weekly menus.
In addition to our set meals, residents are able to enjoy a selection of freshly baked cakes, chocolates and aperitifs throughout the day. We are able to cater for special dietary requirements at Cliftonville Care Home, so just let us know if you have any particular needs and we will see to it.
Activities Seven Days a Week
Our approach to communal activity at Cliftonville aims to develop a sense of community, wellbeing and companionship within our home.
Residents enjoy physically active and mentally engaged lifestyles, which we encourage and foster through the home’s lively leisure schedule. Activities, which include knitting and gardening, take place most days and we also run a monthly carpet bowls tournament to encourage a touch of friendly competition!
We regularly make use of the home’s dedicated projection room by watching films, playing quizzes and getting active using our Nintendo Wii and Xbox. The large screen is also used to help residents connect with family and friends over webcam. We take great pride in being able to facilitate Skype links and we fondly recall an occasion when a resident was able to participate in her granddaughters wedding in Australia, by watching the whole event, together with a commentary on the big screen TV. A magical moment and something which has become common place in the home. Our links with the local community mean that we can enjoy performances from local schools, entertainment groups and Age UK, who arrange classical recitals and tap dance lessons.
As well as the activities we undertake within the home, residents enjoy excursions to the nearby park, garden centre and other local attractions.
Avery Healthcare’s dementia care strategy, Connect, has been formulated from the latest evidence-based care. Connect’s dedicated and personal approach to dementia care pays attention to the unique needs of each resident, aiming to ensure they live a happy and engaged life. The use of life stories has proven popular with residents and families and if our dementia want to be occupied by getting involved in daily tasks, that is fine by us. Many of our Connect residents enjoy helping us fold the napkins, prepare tables for eveing diner and generally helping out.
Avery Healthcare’s ARIES programme puts residents and their families at the heart of the home’s decision making; their feedback is of the utmost importance to us. At Cliftonville, residents and their families meet every month to help steer the development of the care home and make valued contributions for which we are grateful.
