Care Home Life
At Avery House we pride ourselves on the luxury we afford our residents, be it through our personal and diligent care, the locally sources, restaurant quality of our food, or simply in the high standard of our home’s furnishings and embellishments.
This care home offers a variety of social lounges where residents can play games, listen to music, or just chat. Elsewhere, quiet rooms and balconies mean residents can read or relax without distraction.
Away from our communal spaces, Avery House’s generous bedrooms offer en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers as well as large flat screen televisions. We encourage residents to personalise their room with photographs and other memorabilia, your bedroom is your space and you are free to furnish it in any way you wish.
The home comes equipped with a residents computer and Wi-Fi, which we use to support residents in keeping in touch with family and friends. To help our residents look and feel their best, Avery House provides luxury therapy rooms and a professional hairdressing service.
Active Care Home Lifestyles
Our dedicated recreation and leisure team understand the importance of daily activity as an essential part of home life, aiming for all at Avery House to have an active and engaged lifestyle. We run a wide variety of activities six days a week, giving our carers and leisure coordinators time to learn each individual’s hobbies and interests. Entertainment ranges from our cinema club, games evenings and arts and crafts to our reminiscence sessions, where residents share memories and experience with one another based around evocative props and historical objects. Through our gardening club, green fingered residents can make the most of our private grounds by tending to their own flower bed or vegetable patch.
The local community is actively involved in care home life at Avery House. We enjoy visits from choir and theatre groups, exotic animals and their keepers, and even talks from the Peterborough History Museum.
We strive to continually improve the services we offer. Our ARIES programme ensures that Avery Houses’ residents and their relatives are extensively consulted before we move forward with new ideas. The ARIES programme has led to the introduction of a wide range of new activities at our care home, for example.
Fresh Food and Fine Dining
All our meals and snacks are freshly prepared daily by our in-house chef. Vegetables grown by our gardening club are used in our lovingly prepared meals - you don't get much more locally sourced than that! As well as our formal dining, food can be ordered at any time throughout the day. Avery House’s chef also guarantees that there is a steady supply of snacks, cakes and treats available to all residents. We take pride in planning menus around the tastes of our residents - and of course all dietary requirements can be easily managed at Avery House, even if that just means you have a birthday cake preference!
Family members are welcome to join residents for dinner at any time - after all, family is what makes a home a home.
