Ary Mews care home is a high quality residential and dementia care home situated in the heart of Heckmondwike next to the station. The home has been designed with the needs of our residents in mind from the fabric of the building through to the clinical and support services that ensure our residents thrive within our community of care.

Our Heckmonwike care home offers 45 beds in rooms that are equipped with flat screen TV’s and en-suite walk in shower facilities. Avery Mews has quickly established strong links within the community and is a popular home. We place our residents at the centre of everything we do, we go that extra mile to make everyone feel comfortable and secure, and our dining is of restaurant quality, freshly prepared three times a day and served in one of our spacious dining rooms. Food is an important aspect of life here, it is a chance for all our residents to mix and share a drink before mealtime.

Each day our dedicated recreation co-ordinators produce a range of activities and engagements that are designed to stimulate our residents and encourage socialising. These activities are fun, mentally nourishing and for some of our residents, active. Our dementia education programme, Connect, helps families understand the needs of dementia sufferers and is free to all our families. We regularly hold community events at Avery Mews and invite various organisations, groups and school children in to share with our residents. Avery Mews is definitely part of the local community and has a role to play.

Visitors are welcome to visit whenever they wish and family and friends can join you for some food and a drink. We provide quiet areas where there are no televisions, and of course a secure and furnished garden which we all like to use when the weather is fine. If you fancy some pampering, there is even a hair salon on site too.
