Care Home Life

Silvermere was built with the aim of affording residents the highest levels of luxury and support, as well as exceptional levels of care. With this in mind, our bedrooms are stylishly fitted and decorated to high standards; a variety of rooms are available, from our spacious single bedrooms to our lavish suites for couples with their own kitchenette and private lounge.

Our bright and comfortable lounges, all of which open out onto our extensive lakeside gardens, are designed to support interaction as well as create spaces for relaxation. Many of our recreational activities take place across our various lounges, generating the community atmosphere that is a hallmark of all Avery homes. For those who want a little down-time, the home’s well-stocked library and quiet lounges offer a relaxing getaway from the more social spaces.

Silvermere’s wonderful outdoor space, with a beautiful sensory garden and raised flower beds, provides a safe open area for residents to enjoy the warm weather while overlooking the lake. Woodlands surround our home and their shade is enjoyed on sunny days. We also like to enjoy the view presented by our balconies and are a great place to enjoy an afternoon cup of tea and a freshly baked cake. For our golfers, we encourage our members to take advantage of our corporate membership with friends and family and the Silvermere Inn is just a short stroll around the lake.

Relaxation is easy at Silvermere; the home’s beauty therapy and hair-dressing salon offers the chance to get pampered in state-of-the-art facilities. For the gentlemen, a barber skilled in the wet-shave technique can provide a luxury shaving experience.

Active Elderly Community

Our approach to entertainment and activities at Silvermere has been developed with the intent of growing a sense of community, wellbeing and companionship within our home. Residents enjoy physically active and mentally engaged lifestyles, which our Recreation and Leisure Coordinators encourage through the home’s varied leisure schedule. We have our own transport and like to visit local beauty spots, or pop in to some of the excellent pubs nearby for some lunch or to enjoy some sport.

Our specialist art studio, for example, provides art tuition to all, and local clubs and societies are regular visitors to the home, providing a rich selection of expert talks or performances. Many of residents share similar interests, our gardening club for example is particularly active and uses the raised beds to good effect. We even get to sample some of the vegetables that we grow in our garden.

Each resident can do as much or a little as they please, and everyone can influence the activities running in the home through our various resident committees. We always support our residents interests and hobbies and our staff are always keen to receive suggestions from residents and their families about how the menu should develop and what activities would best support our residents.

Dementia Care in Cobham

We offer specialist care for our residents living with dementia. Through our innovative Connect programme we aim to help residents lead active and fulfilling lives. We work closely with family in setting care plans that stimulate and engage our residents. We use personal life stories to inform our carers and the activities we undertake so that each resident is stimulated and engaged.

Under the Connect programme our residents thrive as we offer them a sense of purpose in an anxiety free environment with staff that are selected for their warm and extrovert personalities, something we have found to be particularly important for this resident group.

At Silvermere Care Home Surrey we provide every resident with free access to Wi-Fi and iPads are freely available to residents to keep them connected with current affairs and their loved ones - wherever they are in the world! We have seen first hand just how important this can be in improving the quality of our residents lives. We also provide support for those who are not computer literate but would like to give it a try. Our internet workshops are popular with residents.

We actively pursue feedback and our ARIES programme encourages resident and family feedback on a range of issues from food, through to activities and general welfare. We listen and respond, it is how we improve and we embrace any suggestions that will enhance the quality of living for our residents.
