Avery Healthcare develops and operates Care Homes for older people and people with Dementia throughout the country. During the last 12 months it has opened seven homes, all constructed to the new Essential Standards. All rooms include hotel style ensuite showers. With a further nine homes opening during the next 12 months, this will take the total number to 20.
Avery is one of the few operators with an active construction programme. With further shareholder and bank support recently agreed the company is set to grow to over 27 homes. It is also investing heavily in systems and support and has built an Operational Team, combined with Clinical Development and Training & Development Departments, to support the homes to ensure high standards of service and Care Quality
Commission accreditation are maintained.
This expansion sets Avery in almost a unique position with 100% of beds being single ensuite. A total of 98% will have ensuite showers when the current pipeline of developments presently under construction is completed by early 2011. Avery combines the development, professional and operating experience of the Directors and the Senior Team going back some 20 years. This has enabled all the existing operating homes to be rated Good or Excellent by the Care Quality Commission. By designing homes which are hotel style and user friendly, Avery is changing the perception of Care Homes in the localities in which it operates from a reluctant choice to a positive lifestyle change where guests enjoy service and support to quality hotel standards.
Avery Care Homes are simply nice places to live and with innovative programmes for Recreation & Leisure, Resident Experience and Dementia Care through the Avery ‘Connect’ programme, it is confident that it can claim without reservation that people coming as guests into an Avery Home are significantly extending their choices and adding life to their years.
